I remember that it was part of a movie marathon that took place when I gained access to a VCR. Of course, it was the box that sold me - not only the letter on the back, but the front image of a bloody dagger through a running shoe. Seems Adidas wasn't as protective of it's brand back then. Or was it product placement?

Of the movie itself I remember nothing more than the twist ending... and even that isn't too clear. It's definitely one of the better slasher movies out there (despite its low budget and some unintentional laughs) I also don't think of it as a horror movie. It's a teen drama with some killing in it...and the teenagers are played by teenagers (not twenty-somethings pretending to be 16 and 17.) Alienation, acceptance, pedophilia, homosexuality, it's all there. Basically, it's a f**ked-up episode of "Degrassi"

Knuckles G.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6747768554703669866.post-27368115857042074172012-11-01T18:23:21.896-04:002012-11-01T18:23:21.896-04:00Yes, it's great to see that amazing cover agai...Yes, it's great to see that amazing cover again...Yes, that passage was worth reading. (I love that type of writing)...Yes, throwing in a random photo of Sue Ellen made me laugh...But then, the clincher, out of left-field, you reference "Sleepaway Camp"

I don't know if you have ever seen the film or not, but it's not your traditional slasher movie. And, I can't really discuss its value(?) without revealing the twist ending. I think it's a nice socially-relevant example of a teenage angst flick (albeit a grade z example)...and now, damn it, you have put me in the mood to watch it again. Fortunately, I own a copy...but then does that really come as a surprise to you?

Knuckles G.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
